โ€ŽDelegates from Assumption Iloilo joined over 2,000 students from 39 Catholic schools across Western Visayas at the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) VI Youth Camp 2025, held at Sacred Heart Academy, Zarraga, Iloilo, on November 14โ€“15, 2025.

โ€Ž The camp followed the theme โ€œEmpowering the Youth: Ignited by Faith, Inspired by Mission.โ€

โ€Ž

โ€ŽThe program opened with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Most Rev. Midyphil B. Billones, D.D., Archbishop of Jaro. This was followed by the official opening of the camp by Rev. Fr. Ryan Francis Barrios, CEAP Regional Trustee, with a welcome address delivered by Hon. Atty. Laurence John B. Sortigesa. Participants were then introduced to the keynote speaker, Dau. Fr. Pederito Aparece, OSA, followed by the keynote talk delivered by Mr. Miguel Karlo L. Abadines, Executive Director of the Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan Resource Program,ย ย emphasizing the importance of youth engagement in nation-building and purposeful action, reminding students that their contributions begin in the present.

โ€Ž

โ€ŽIn the afternoon, delegates joined the scheduled games facilitated by designated student leaders and coordinators from various participating schools. Due to time limitations and adjustments in the program, several activitiesโ€”including the sack race, patintero, kadang, dodgeball, relay games, and the Call of Duty tournamentโ€”were cancelled. Following the games, Human Bingo was conducted, providing participants with an opportunity to interact and connect across schools.ย

โ€Ž

โ€ŽThe evening program featured a Praise and Worship concert,ย ย where delegates actively participated in singing and reflecting. This was immediately followed by the disco, allowing students to celebrate, dance, and enjoy fellowship.ย ย The previously planned Exodus Walk and bonfire lighting did not push through, and the lights-off time was extended to 1:00 AM.

โ€Ž

โ€ŽOn the second day, the Outreach Program at SOS Childrenโ€™s Village Iloilo and the Tree Planting Activity at Sacred Heart Academy were conducted simultaneously. Outreach participants were welcomed by the Village Director, who provided a brief orientation. Assumption Iloilo was represented by Shaldon Nigele Gellada, who assisted with games for the children, distributed donations, and joined the concluding village tour. He reflected that โ€œhelping others and meeting new people made the experience meaningful and heartwarming.โ€

โ€Ž

โ€ŽMeanwhile, the tree-planting activity engaged youth leaders in promoting environmental responsibility, with Pauline Cassandra Frias representing Assumption Iloilo. The activity allowed participants to actively contribute to environmental conservation and collaborate with peers from other schools in planting and caring for the trees.

โ€Ž

โ€ŽThe camp concluded with synthesis sessions led by representatives from participating archdioceses, followed by the Closing Program, awarding of certificates, and the final message from Rev. Fr. Ryan Francis F. Barrios, officially marking the end of the CEAP VI Youth Camp 2025. During the closing program, it was also announced that the next CEAP Youth Camp will be hosted by the Archdiocese of Kalibo, Aklan.
